Til the last light of the day

A brief and chilly walk in the park yesterday afternoon, prompted by both the beautiful day and a need for Rosie to do some primary research for her art GCSE (i.e. take some photos).
I took this one though.
It was great to capture the colour of the sun’s last rays.
It was a beautiful day for a New Year’s Walk

Looking back at photos from this day last year, the weather was very similar, although I think it might have been a bit colder then.
Not all of us walked this year. Jeff stayed and prepared a sumptuous lunch for us. Jenny stayed home and tried to find out what the Romans have done for us (history homework). Rosie slaved away at her artwork.
And some of our family never go very far.
Hanging around

It still feels like Christmas to me. We have friends coming for Christmas lunch tomorrow – well, there will be crackers – so I’m holding on to the magic for a little longer.
